WHAT IS ASSOCIATED TUBE INDUSTRIES?

ATI is the largest Canadian manufacturer of welded stainless steel, nickel, moly and duplex alloy and titanium tube and pipe. ATI is also the only North American Stainless steel tube producer that is certified to ISO/TS16949:2002 requirements. There are twenty eight continuous forming welding mills with plasma and TIG welders. ATI has a well-equipped metallurgical laboratory capable of performing metallography, mechanical and corrosion testing. ATI can meet your needs by offering the capability to cold-draw, bright-anneal, pickle, cut, polish and fabricate. The facility is located close to three airports as well as major throughways.

WHY STAINLESS STEEL?

Stainless steel and nickel alloys offer unique resistance to corrosion and suitability for high temperature environments. In addition, stainless can offer good formability and weldability. Stainless steel also offers low heat conductivity, with minimal expansion or contraction at various temperatures. Stainless steel provides superior strength in many applications. When compared to many other metals, stainless is the "better" investment.

HOW LONG HAS ATI BEEN IN BUSINESS?

Associated Tube Industries began operating in 1955, in a suburb of Toronto, as a privately owned company, Oakton Products. One mill produced only heating element tubing back in those days. A second company, Tri-Bay Industries, located two hours north of Toronto, was acquired, having continuous roll-forming welding mills and cold-reduction draw bench capabilities. In the early 1960's the two companies were combined and brought to the present location in Markham, becoming Associated Tube Industries. A number of expansions followed, increasing the facility from 60000 sq. ft. to 200000 sq. ft. In the mid- 1970's, ATI changed ownership, becoming a member of the Samuel, Son and Company team. In 1988, ATI became a division within Samuel Manu-Tech Inc., whose common shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE).
