EFFECTS OF ACUTE EXPOSURE TO PRODUCT
Excessive inhalation of all metallic fumes and dusts may result in irritation of eyes, nose and throat. High concentrations of fumes and dusts may result in "Metal Fume Fever". Typical symptoms consist of a metallic taste in the mouth, dryness and irritation of the throat, fever and chills; usually lasts from 12-48 hours.

EFFECTS OF CHRONIC EXPOSURE TO PRODUCT
Chronic exposure to user generated dusts and fumes could cause dermatitis (skin) or conjunctivitis (eyes). Excessive inhalation of user generated fumes from high temperature cutting or welding of these alloys may, depending on the specific features of the process used, pose a long term health hazard.

Note: Chromium and nickel have been identified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the National Toxicology Program (NTP) as potential carcinogens.

SECTION 7 - PREVENTIVE MEASURES
GLOVES (Specify)
Cotton or leather gloves adequate for handling material in its natural state.
RESPIRATOR (Specify)
NIOSH approved respirator for dust/fumes, if ventilation is not adequate.
EYE (Specify)
Safety glasses to be worn during cutting, grinding or any process with potential for eye injuries.
FOOTWARE (Specify)
Safety shoes or other foot protection recommended where crushing foot injuries may occur.
CLOTHING (Specify)
Long sleeves and long pants recommended.
OTHER (Specify)
Welding goggles to be worn to protect eyes from flashburn.
ENGINEERING CONTROLS (SPECIFY, EG. VENTILATION, ENCLOSED PROCESS)
Use local exhaust ventilation when cutting, grinding or welding. Maintain exposure below acceptable exposure limits.

Housekeeping; Use good housekeeping practices to prevent accumulation of dusts and airborne particles.
SECTION 8 - FIRST AID MEASURES
SPECIFIC MEASURES

Eye Contact: Flush particles from the eyeballs with clean water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

Skin Contact:
Wash skin with soap and water to remove any metallic particles. If a rash develops, seek medical attention.

Inhalation:
Remove from exposure. If severe respiratory irritation persists, seek medical attention. Excessive inhalation of some metal fumes can produce an acute reaction known as "Metal Fume Fever", with symptoms of chills and fever similar to flue symptoms. These symptoms appear within a few hours of exposure; however, long term effects have not been noted from isolated instances of excessive exposure.
